Kuta Lombok - English

Kuta Lombok, 5 days.

I took a 25 minute flight to Lombok from Bali . If you ask yourself now whether this is not totally overpriced compared to the ferries you are wrong.

The Local Ferry is the cheapest option. It's 5 hours on a large ferry. It costs only 40.000IDR (2.80 €), however there are no transport costs to the port and away from the port. Since these were too expensive for me, I decided to fly.

The flight from Denpasar to Lombok cost me 16 € with luggage included. The duration was 25 minutes. It was very bumpy, but I arrived.

The fastboats are the most expensive option. It takes about 2 hours. The cost for a one-way ticket is a  minimum of 300,000 (20 €) depending on the provider, but you have pick-up and delivery service included.

Everyone should find the most practical option for themselves. For me it was the flight.

I heard very good things from a hostel in Kuta Lombok and then wanted to stay there. Since it was quite busy I could only get a room for 2 days after my arrival. No problem! I thought. Since the airport is close to Mataram I can look at the capital of the island. So I found a cheap "hotel" and booked. Well, the airport is not at all in Mataram,  but Linda has not informed herself, so Linda has to live through the organizational disaster now.
I arrived at a terrible building. The rooms are full of spiderwebs and dirt. It can not be that it 's called a "hotel" it is worse than any hostel where I have stayed so far!
I was able to get my money for the second night somehow, and after a terrible night I went to Kuta, where I settled in another very good hostel for one night before my planned arrival.

After all the chaos, it was raining. From morning to night, all day, every day. Unfortunately this was also the case in the 4 of 5 days of my stay, which I find very sad, but I have another reason to come again. In the time I met some people in the hostel and we thought: Hm, what can you do when it rains? And then I came to the taste of yoga.
So every day yoga was announced and.. Oh! See! There was a bit of good weather!
With a few others we walked along the beach and saw these very famous beach swings and unfortunately the very famous child labor on Kuta Lombok. At the beach and in the city small children came to us and wanted to sell a bracelet . Such lovely children and perfect English; So we talked a bit with the kids.

Normally the children were between 6 and 14 years old. We asked why they were not at school, most of them answered, "I'm already too old for school." It is very sad to see somethinglike that, especially because many of the children have talents. Some were so gifted with geography and some with language.
The question is: Do I buy a bracelet? If so, I support it and the child has to go on because it brings money home. If no, then the child gets punished at home and will have to go further. It's such a sad devil's circle. You can not do anything right.

In the rainy days, we enjoyed ourselves with lots of sleep, movies and card games, next to yoga. On the last, finally sunny day, we took some scooters and drove to some other beautiful beaches. I just wish I had seen more of it. Yes, these are cows on the beach.
